Once this starts I’ll be trying to keep up with four versions of SKAM ( I’m enjoying the French, German and Italian remakes) and I’m gonna start watching Blank. RIP me. The good thing about an American version of Skam will be not having to wait for translated clips, but it’s an American remake so I guess we’ll see.

i have no hope on the american remake and im not feeling the casting at all...

i watched the first clip for blank but it was kinda boring lol, and my friend has been watching the other clips and she also thinks its boring so..
but im 90% sure the girl is gay and likes her bff so it'll probably pick up when they get to that drama

I heard something about a new NRK show where the characters are high school kids who all live away from parents like Noora (apparently that's reasonably common in some areas of Norway). Is that what Blank is?

i haven't tried any of the remakes. i still can't figure out why it's called skam and didn't just translate it to shame. same with the remakes. and i still don't like that they went with austin. should have done seattle or chicago like the rumors mentioned.

i watched some clips on the remakes and disliked them all lol. druck (german version) was okay, but they're all rip-offs so what's the point? it's the same characters/plotlines over again 6x.

skam austin is the dumbest title... americans have no idea what 'skam' is, it should've been called shame. this isn't norwegian and they're speaking english, so? i guess it was to build traction & keep ties with the original version. also agreed, austin is probably the worst location they could've picked. i guess they did it to differentiate.

as a general rule, remakes aren't made for the enjoyment of people who are already fans of the original product, but to gain new fans. it makes all the sense in the world for them to do the same plot all over again, but in different geographical contexts because the skam fandom is actually pretty niche when compared to other media products. skam fans just don't realize.

the funniest part so far to me is that william's character is apparently called DANIEL WILLIAMSON and jonas is called marlon, which is literally his norwegian actor's name. and i guess josefina (girl chris) + josefine (noora's norwegian actor) lmao
