I heard something about a new NRK show where the characters are high school kids who all live away from parents like Noora (apparently that's reasonably common in some areas of Norway). Is that what Blank is?

yes basically, blank is aimed at an older audience than skam was (age 15-17 vs age 19-21) and follows ella (the main) as she takes a gap year after high school. she's currently living with her best friend susanne (getting hella gay vibes from ella but who knows...) and she has a bf (who she doesn't seem to be that into??) and a job at some department store

I think on of the opening titles where "friår", which means that you take a year off after you done high school to travel, earn money, relax, or upgrade you're grades from high school before you start to study in college.
