I'll be honest, I side eye all actors who are apologizing NOW because of something that was on the news for decades. I mean, I live in Russia and I think I always knew that Allen married his stepdaughter and was accused of molesting his child. But those actors, they were not aware? They should be honest! Yes, we are actors, and we are obsessed with prestige, oscars and good roles. We are selfish and self serving, just like most people. We didn't care. But no.... Suddenly, they realized, that child mole station is wrong, and now they ashamed.

Yeah I agree. I also do not buy the whole “I didn’t know” bit in general. If I knew about it since I was 11…how couldn’t they know.

Oh ffs, she is such a hack

She wrote a surprisingly good piece on Polanski literally four days ago which we had a post on here, and then she follows it up with this?

Once I read an article about all the situation and everything seems to be really, really weird and fucked up

Woody's relationship with Dylan apparently wasn't sexual, but was categorized as "oddly close"

To be honest, I'm not really sure that he abused her (but I'm not saying she's a liar, there's a possibility that she believes in that but it didn't happened, anyone that saw the scandal at the time and know all the kids was exposed, wouldn't be surprised, in any situation she's still the victim)

But I must say, It's disgusting how Woody get in that relationship with Soon-Yi and say there was no "moral dilemma" at all. And everyone that was alive at the time when all the situation happened can't really say they "knew anything", the story was like everywhere, where do you was living? In the middle of the ocean?

It's less about pedophilia being wrong and more about women being believed/listened to now.

re: chalamet, i just wanna add that the reason why that comment bothered me is that he seems to always be covered from every angle when it comes to woody allen. regardless of what he does or says & the fact that he's a grown ass 22yo, everyone seems hell bent on babying and excusing him: he says nothing? well, i mean, he's so young and had no way of knowing, and also he was no clout in the industry... he does the bare minimum something? yeah, but i mean, he's so young and impressionable, someone probably advised him anyway... funny how he never has to take responsibility for anything.

But why he is the one who supposed to take responsibility? I mean, there are hundreds of actors who worked with Allen since those allegations saw the light. Only few of them apologized. Most of them just ignore this situation or defend Allen.

no one's saying he's the only one who has to, but he's simply one of the very few who seem to be excused from taking responsibility regardless of the attitude he chooses to adopt. that's my point. we actually had a post here that tried to pin his shitty statement on greta gerwig, ffs.

Greta Gerwig also worked with Allen. Is she forgiven because her statement was better? That's ridiculous. War of PR.
