They'll also ignore Cuaron, del Toro, Inarritu, and Almodovar. They'll ignore Tilda Swinton and Monica Bellucci.

No surprises about Darren Aronofsky. But fuck, JLaw, WTF at your choice in men. Dump the motherfucker. Or stop pretending to give a damn about women.

people actually being able to ignore how gross he is so insane to me, I'd be so repulsed to even be near him.

I only knew about him being a rapist & knew he was awful, but then I listened to the You Must Remember This episodes about him & it only amplified what a dangerous predator he is. I don't know how anyone supports him.

SAME. I didn't know until YMRT's Manson Family 12-parter that he was a piece of shit long before this even happened. He was like, post-fame, living in some small village in France where there was a boarding school, and he was fucking the underage students. And he was so awful to Sharon Tate.

Yeah, I'm not surprised it's there either, it's Polanski and Assayas there was no way it wasn't getting in, and if it hadn't gotten in at Cannes it would have played one of the other major festivals.

I do hope there are protests and boycotts though. When Allen last played Cannes I know some of the female critics banded together and held a cocktail/networking event during his screening instead of reviewing his work. Hope there is something like that again, or maybe they will just avoid it and see some other stuff.

2017 goals: stay healthy and live long enough to see the death announcements of Polanski, Allen and Trump.

You know more than me, is it just me or is this year the comp really heavy on the English language films? I know it's all the American critics care for, but I like a lot of the foreign films and a lot of times it's the only chance they get for exposure/distribution deals.
