Growing up my dad put a timer on my tv. Like I could only watch until 10 at night before it "clicked" off automatically. After I hit like 15 I took that shit off behind his back, he didn't even notice SMH.

I was so mad that I had that thing on my tv for so long that when I actually did have the balls to take it off myself, he didn't even GAF anymore lmao.

That's how I became a bookworm too!!! My parents refused to get cable so I could only catch maybe tvo kids for a few hours and after that my parents were home from work and said I was too young to watch them so I was like okay I guess back to my book

Yeah I think I had pretty limited screen time when I was a kid (we didn't get a computer till I was 13 and I was only allowed to spend an hour on it per day and I never had any gaming devices because we were poor as shit) I did a lot of reading and we lived on a farm so the animals needed to be attended to before tv time.

I only really remember watching tv when we were eating dinner because that's when the news was on. Oh! And I used to watch cartoons before school... but I threw a tantrum one day and that was scrapped.
