Stars join fight to end Yulin Dog (Murder) Festival

Stars have voiced support for the Stop Yulin Forever Campaign. This brings awareness to the Lychee and Dog Meat Festival in Yulin China . According to supporter Ricky Gervais "The dogs are tortured to 'make the meat tastier.' They are also skinned and boiled alive. It's not a food festival. It's Hell."

If you met a pig you'd likely realize how smart and aware they are as well. None of these animals want to die.

the way some places kill pigs is absolutely horrific. this is a global issue but since dogs have sentimental value in the west, more voices will be raised against this specific event.

But the sentimental value of dogs isn't actually just a thing in the west. Dogs are kept as pets/friends/family everywhere. China included.

I'm really tired of this "the West is crazy about dogs, the East - lol - sees them as objects". As if Western people wouldn't mistreat dogs as punching bags, wouldn't send dogs to detonate bombs, use them as test animals or just torture them for fun.
Sure, there are cultural differences. But the dog is a universally beloved animal, the pig -sadly- is not.
