Chapter 5
The incident on that rainy day still remained fresh in my head. She was so similar to her. Who was she? I still have her umbrella, having it makes me more distracted from work. I couldn’t focus, having her image in my head. Could she maybe.. Be.. Yuuka? No. It’s most definitely impossible…
“ Hey, which planet have you landed onto Jun?” Aiba startled me with the sudden pat on my back. “Yeah, you sick? You seem to be out from this world..” Sho asked, sitting next to me. “Yeah, I have to agree. Even Oh-chan doesn’t space out like that..” Nino joked. Everyone sat silent, and suddenly broke into laughter.
“I take it back, no one can space out like Oh-chan.” Nino almost cried. A smile formed on me. I laughed along. “I’m fine. Just didn’t have enough rest. That’s all. You know me, I can get tired without my sleep!
I said cheerfully, hiding my real expressions.
“So da ne.. Jun-kun always needs his sleep.” Aiba said, flipping through some magazines he just bought. I excused myself and left the room. I made my way to the park to get some fresh air. I need to clear my head. As I walked through the park, I realized this was the same park where I used to walk with her.
“Wrong choice of head clearing Jun“. I said to myself. I ignored myself comment and took a stroll around the park. Good thing I had my disguise on.
The laughter of kids, the sweet chirps of the morning birds the happy couples walking on this park.. I hate it.. So, so much. The image of the girl I met in the rain had kept me thinking if that was Yuuka. It couldn’t be. But.. I really shouldn’t think about it. It’s just a waste of my time. As I tried to clear my thoughts of her by walking through the park, there she was. Again, I saw her.
My eyes widened.
I stayed at where I was. I couldn’t move. Just when I need these legs to bring me to her, it doesn’t move. Before I knew it, she walked pass me. I turned towards her. It was her, that was really her. I’m sure of it. It was Yuuka. That scent.. That face.. Everything about her has Yuuka about it. I just let her walk pass me and she slowly disappeared from my sight.
I am an idiot aren’t I?
