Summary:
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes of its own fiery demise, those that were left picked up the pieces of their shattered and crushed lives. They cleaned their wounds and limped to the sidelines and watched as everything they once knew eroded into something entirely new, but not completely devastating. The end was really only the beginning, and the phoenix spread its wings and flew into the sun, singing of pain and joy and new beginnings. Apocalypse AU.

It seems like everyone has to write at least one apocalypse fic before our words run out. This is mine. It turned out a lot more epic than I ever imagined, when I first thought of the idea, daydreaming of how it would all play out. It morphed and grew and went places I never knew it would go.
