Duck sidles over to Carlisle and puts her hand up to he mouth, glancing nervously around at the other team members.

"I, um, I DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW TO PLAY."

"You must be Duck," Carlisle sidesteps the proclamation with professional ease and a smile. "There are plenty of people here who have never even heard of the game before signing up, so we will work with what we have. I'm glad you're here."

Duck seems...kind of adorable, really. Not that he'll tell her that.

"First off -- do you have any magical skills or special powers I need to know about?"

"Magic powers! Me? I don't, I mean, um, well . . . ."

Duck flounders for several moments. Is the duck thing going to be relevant?

Come to that, is the Princess Tutu thing going to be relevant?

It doesn't really seem likely that a heartshard is gonna be on the baseball field, so . . .

"There's sorta something but it's kind of a secret and it's only really important some of the time and not for a game or anything!"

Carlisle starts to smirk a bit. "You're not going to suddenly fly away are you?"

He wiggles his fingers back at her, then adds in an undertone- "Just tell me you aren't playing because of crazy take-over-your-brain shards. Please. Make my day."

Duck turns bright red, and hastily covers Duo's mouth with her hand, looking around to see if anyone heard.

"This isn't - this isn't anything to do with that!" she hisses to him, in a stage whisper.

Then, forgetting to whisper: "Anyway they're for your heart, not your brain!"
