On the knitting side of things: Lots of knitting around these parts, minus an 8-week period last fall where I hurt my right thumb and couldn't knit

I hear you about not having my fannish TV to enthuse over. I am a Big Bang Theory fan so that's still good but not much else on the small screen is of interest.

hi! *waves!* lovely knitting update! and madeline tosh merino light! i have that on the needles right now, as part of a cowl that is taking forever to happen. That is mostly because I have little time during the semester to dedicate to knitting. Most of what's there is because I wised up and brought it along to a super boring class that I would have otherwise skipped. win/win! Can't wait to see your other projects!

Congrats on the house! We did that a few years ago and have never looked back--it can be a labor of love but it's totally worth it.
