Just browsing through your GG fics, seems like I missed this one when it was first posted. XD

I was chuckling throughout the entire thing, especially the parts with Sol complaining about his own boring writing. ALSO:

If he'd be forced to do it all over again, he'd write the whole thing in the sacred language of Internet-savvy felines, just to get back at the entire academic circus.

YES SOL. WRITE A THESIS IN LOLCAT SPEAK.

I also love the idea of Sol being a mad scientist in his free time \o/

I'm really sorry for not getting back to you sooner. orz LJ's comment alert system keeps screwing up.

Glad to hear it was an entertaining read; it's probably obvious that I had entirely too much fun with this. XD

You know he'd do it. CEILING GEAR IS WATCHING YOU.

*laughs* I think he'd get back to poking and prodding stuff once he works through a couple of issues. Hell, Ky would probably encourage him, if only to get him to stay away from perfectly usable household appliances.

Snerk.

Mad Genius Sol and his apprentice. Sin “Breeding”. Ky being a grandpa. This;

Ky gave him a flat look. "How am I supposed to know where you leave your weapons of mass destruction? You're diverting it from its intended use at least three times a week."

"I think... I think I used it to prop up something or other in here," Sol said, getting up and poking around the mountains of notes and books.

And

"...If you ever touch the Furaiken, may God have mercy on your soul, because I certainly won't."

Gyahahaha. Also I thought by the... 4th/5th? new game design for Ky that he is a gear... or was that just me. I mean that circlet is in the perfect place to cover a gear symbol like Sol's.

*laughs* Oh he's going to love this one. Tiny lab assistant dissecting frogs and building evil robots.

Lord, yeah. Words can't express my disappointment in Overture. Ky becoming a Gear is just the next logical step. *cracks knuckles*

I liked your Mana Khemia fic, so I finally got around to checking out what else you'd written. I've honestly never read Guilty Gear before, but a couple of your summaries got me interested and here I am the next day having read everything you've written for it here and looked up a few cutscenes on Youtube for a game series I'll never play...

You're one of those authors who writes things they way they should have been, with plot, logical worldbuilding, characters who act like veterans when they are veterans... I particularily liked the fic where Ky saw Sol's Gear form and disabuses Sol of the idea that he was actually hiding anything. Of course, you justify why Sol can get away with making it blindingly obvious he's not normal (people don't want to look the gift horse in the mouth) but Ky's not people in general, he's paying attention ( ... )

Wargh, sorry for the lateness. I don't get comment notifications on comm entries, for some reason. ):

I'm happy the summaries got you interested. Guilty Gear is one of those game series that's a hot mess after a certain point, but there's just so much cool stuff lurking within that I can't help but love it and try to do my best to write for it.

Aw, thank you. I'm an immense nerd for worldbuilding, so it's good to hear that it comes across as believable and organic. I admit Three Degrees was at least in part a rebellion against the established idea that Ky would completely freak out over something like this, when he's previously conveyed the depth of his trust in Sol. It was a lot of fun to write once I got into it, because both these guys have so much on their plates ( ... )

They Wasted A Perfectly Good Plot and other tropes.

Worldbuilding is love. It's got quite a bit in common with X and Zero's relationship, really, and if random new medical officer can figure out Zero's equivalent of Sol's little secret (roughly translated, he's a Command Gear who doesn't remember how and doesn't want anything to do with it), there's really no way X hasn't known for years. I love partnership dynamics like these. ...oh for crying out loud, now the world fusion possibilities occurred to me. When I still need to do more than snippets of the Ar Tonelico one. Japan and blacktech vs. the threat of gears and the RoboKys and swords and aargh. I already have way too many 'verses.

Sometimes supplementary material is like that. I also adore talking shop and sharing ideas.

*cackles madly* Oh man. Oh MAN. Love hearing Sol's thoughts as he's reading that book! ;D Ah, so funny! And so scary smart. That kid's going to be a menace when she's gets bigger because she's going to have the brains to go with the brawn, right? *laughs* Thank you for the wonderful mental image of a tiny!girl!Sin (& wife) with wings trying to read grandpa Sol's book upside down! So cute!

*laughs* Next logical step. I am very fond of the idea that the line of grandkids is getting longer and longer while Sol is yelling about how the idiot shouldn't be breeding, dammit, and this is not how any of this was supposed to go. Ky remains zen about the entire thing, but that's before the horde starts going for his teacups.
