A news article I saw yesterday really ticked me off. It's about Senator Carl Levin wanting to increase income taxes to pay for the war on terror. War is one of the few things that is truly legitimate to go on the national debt because it preserves the nation for all future generations and it's cost should be spread out. ( Read more... )

I bet in the future they'll point to this as justification for raising taxes on everyone else. Everybody should carry the burden, but this run-around is retarded.

Not to mention $200k+ means nothing. The truly rich don't exactly depend on a stated salary.

It's all bullshit.

Well, after reading the debate...at first I was writing something really long concerning how the subsidization of healthcare is what drives up the price, but it was lost due to a browser crash. So, I'll just say that even the poor undefended masses could afford healthcare if government would stop pumping money in for the corporations servicing the profession to benefit from. Not allowing drugs to be hyped up would be nice too ( ... )

So true! Federal regs add to the cost of everything we buy or touch, from bread to cars and certainly medical care.

And, yes, I do agree with everything said in the letter. As a former firefighter/emt, I'm very familiar with the abuse of our emergency medical system by those with the government approved and caused welfare mentality.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I don't check my own journal much because I rarely get comments.
