I finished a story!

Although sadly not my exchange piece.

Working full time in a call centre hasn’t done much for my ability to write recently, but I’ve experienced a slight burst in creativity in the last couple of weeks. I think it’s being involved in the exchange and getting to see other peoples’ creative processes as an alpha reader. So, people who’ve let me see ( Read more... )

All that writing sounds pretty amazing! I am on holiday at the moment and writing my SSHG Exchange fic is going very slowly, so I can only imagine how it must be with a full-time job...

I'm up for the SPaG beta, if you'll have me ;)

Yes please! It's with my alpha at the moment, but I'll send it your way as soon as it's done! Would you be so kind as to pm me your email address?

The easiest and fastest way to find any spelling/grammar/etc mistakes is to post your story.

Five minutes later it's "Oh Hell!"

There's a SHOCKER of a continuity error in my last year's SSHG that I just can't find the will to fix. Meh.

Anyway, I shouldn't even be up right now. I'm busy poking the Uni site to see if the results are up yet for first semester. Are they there yet?

And yay you for finding an illustrator!

Are they there yet?

Anyway, I ought to get some sleep. Are they there yet?

What about now?

Besides, my wretched exchange piece keeps trying to grow bigger and bigger... And I *have* to finish it these holidays. I just won't have time otherwise. *sigh*

This is so true! I've even tried changing the font to match the one on ffnet, cos I know that the moment something appears on that screen, I'll see every last whoopsie.

Now go to bed :)

Work has a way of just sucking you dry of all creativity. For a while I had real problems writing ... until the day I started mocking my work place ruthlessly, working in my some of my workin day pet peeves into my fan fic.

How is work going, btw? I hope things are a bit easier now. Did the sex pest your colleague get the message?

*hugs*

I'm not sure anyone would enjoy fanfic inspired by where I work. Unless they had trouble sleeping.

Hey, a story is a story, and at least now you're in some sort of writing groove! :) If I didn't suck so much at beta-ing, I'd definitely offer, but it looks like you're in good hands now.

That awful about work, though I know what you're talking about since my oldest friend is a serial call center rep. XD Strangely, though, he started writing after nearly a decade because he was so bored at work. Go figure!

Congrats on the Digest mention, and hopefully your work friend will write something great you can genuinely enthuse about!

I'm quite proud as it's the first smut I've shared. Although it's not very smutty.

I hate that I'm sat at a keyboard all day but am not allowed to type :(

Hopefully her fic will be amazing. I've yet to have a RL fanfic friendship, but it could be the start of something beautiful . . . Or it could be dire. We'll see!

Yay to completing a story. We have so much time in this exchange (so I keep telling myself) that it's ok if you haven't progressed much on your piece yet.

Bummer on the jobs front. Hopefully things turn up soon. *fingers crossed*

I always cringe when I see a spelling mistake posted, but now that I've beta'd a bit, I can see how a few can slip even the most OCD eye haha

Ooh you so have to check out my next icon update (coming up soon, today) ;)
