Although sadly not my exchange piece.
Working full time in a call centre hasn’t done much for my ability to write recently, but I’ve experienced a slight burst in creativity in the last couple of weeks. I think it’s being involved in the exchange and getting to see other peoples’ creative processes as an alpha reader. So, people who’ve let me see their work, I thank you.
It’s not quite ready for posting yet, and this leads nicely to a request - is anyone willing to SPaG beta a short PWP? I would be very, very grateful should anyone have the time to prod it into shape!
I’m also nearly done with chapter 3 of Tyger (finally, huh?) Sadly, there are at least another three chapters to go and, unless I get a better job soon, they may take another few months to get written. Thanks to Evil!Supermarket still not paying P and Natwest/RBS losing his new company’s wages, I’m still the breadwinner. It’s not much fun. I failed a call last week which meant that I lost my sales incentive (read commission), and am pretty much without incentive to even try anymore. *insert gnashing of teeth and several buckets of self pity*
There are lots of good things, though. I’m getting to see more of the family than I have done in years and haven’t been driven to even the slightest homicidal thoughts yet. P is in a job where he’s allowed to do things like have lunch breaks and sleep through the night. My new best friend at work has started to write HP fanfic, which is pretty cute (although its Luna/Harry so I’m waiting to see it posted before I admit to reading fanfic and have to offer an opinion.) She’s also agreed to illustrate a poemy/picture book idea I planned out years ago, which might inspire me to get that finished as well. The existing verses, in my ever-so-humble opinion, are awesome. It’s the plot/rest of it that has always escaped me . . .
It’s Raining has been mentioned on the
hgss_digest *happy dance* (Although now it’s posted I can see an obvious spelling mistake that I cannot be bothered to fix.)
And as
desigrlpointed out, there always seems to be cake.
