I can't believe I knew exactly what movie you were going to reference just from your heading.

And I've never even watched the entire thing. I tried once, on cable, but they'd cut out all the violence, so it was like *Jason raises his ax - cut - someone discovers a dead person*.

Yeah I just noticed that. Anything remotely gory? Gone!

SciFi Channel, surprisingly, is even worse. Don't ever watch their version of Lake Placid. Someone needed to break it to them that if they don't show the severed head, nothing in the next 40 minutes makes any sense.

It's a bit like when they cut out the pot from The Breakfast Club - without that scene, all the kids just mysteriously start acting spacey and goofy. I never understood why until I saw an uncut version. Then it was like... ohhhhhh. Right.

also, that version of Friday the 13th was quite short. And made little sense.

I"m not a big slasher movie fan, so I've not gone back to try and watch the uncut version.

You're tagging me! I feel so special. This is easy for me and I bet my 5 won't be what you thought they'd be....or maybe they are.

My Top 5 Comfort Movies are:

Sixteen Candles
The Breakfast Club
The Bad News Bears
This is Spinal Tap
Team America, World Police

Now what does this say about me?

5 that make me cry:

Before Sunset
About Schmidt
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Remains of the Day
The Champ - yes, The Champ. I can't believe it either.

And even though you've asked for 5, I am throwing in the first movie that ever made me cry:

Benji

a movie that narrowly missed the top five cut for me is Pretty in Pink. So I'm right there with your Molly Ringwald vibe.
