vogonpoet lost his check card on our last day of vacation in late July. He called Bank of America to have that card canceled and a replacement card issued, which he was told would take five to seven business days to arrive. I've got Wells Fargo, which is sometimes frustrating (the local branch seems to be where they place all the Surly Retarded Folk -- none of them seem to know how to do their jobs, but are angry about it; also, for a while, they were charging me fees when apparently no one else was. I almost jumped banks then and there, but when I went to pull out my money, they were able to fix it, but they didn't really apologize or anything.), and sometimes OK (when I went to the Main Seattle Branch to get Canadian money, they were incredibly nice and professional). I'm not sure if I'd recommend them, but I guess I wouldn't dis-recommend them either. Though there are times where I would just be all Run Away And Never Come Back if it weren't a tremendous pain in the ass to change banks.

I always really liked Citibank, though they have moved upscale and thus got too expensive. Always nice to deal with and not stupid.

I've friended you - noticed your comments in the menstrual cups community and I like your journal. Thanks for the BOA warning; I have to choose a new bank soon & will try to avoid them.

My real estate agent said that on the last house he sold, Bank of America was three weeks late for closing because they had to snail mail application paperwork between five different branches of the company in different geographic regions of the United States. They also didn't know which exact office had the paperwork on closing day. Glad I didn't go with them, especially having heard your story.
