We hear emergency vehicle sirens throughout the day since we live near a busy intersection, but when they stop near us it's usually on the block to our west. The bacon salt arrived and I opened the bottle of hickory flavor to turn a serving of plain cream of wheat into a cunning vegetarian imitation of bacon grits. NOM NOM NOM.

Good: Vogon got an offer on one of the companies he'd done multiple interviews with and accepted it this morning. It will take him out of the medical software niche but is still in software development. We've dried out pretty well from the deluge earlier this week. We got about three and a half inches of rain in my neighborhood, but we're in a high area so we didn't have the excitement of people refusing to evacuate flooded low-lying neighborhoods or people driving around barriers and getting their vehicles stuck in the water ( Read more... )
