Two of the nerdsprout's friends stopped by yesterday to pick up a few things she'd asked for. What they actually took was a bit more, but the important thing is that they let themselves in before I could get to the door, so we're going to start locking the door during the day and I'll have a housekey ( Read more... )

We're going slowly but steadily on the potty training front this week. Now I have to start teaching her how to stay on task since it'll be handy when she starts kindergarten next fall.

We still have to get a key made so we can lock the doors, or else I'll accidentally lock myself out. I have nightmares about that sort of thing.

Laurel loves the waffles. After we finish the first box of blueberry waffles later this week, we're starting in on apple-cinnamon ones. Yum. (:

i love homemade waffles, but it takes such time, and our old waffle maker takes 4 minutes to make one. :) those are sloooooooooooow dinners, there.

Um... I don't know where you live. I've lived in variety of neighborhoods from "semi-bad" to "very good". Regardless of where I lived, the doors are only unlocked when entering and exiting.

I wish A) I'd known about that deal at Albertsons (although it may be regional) and B) My mom had a freezer bigger than a breadbox. I've been on this froze waffle kick for the past 6 months.

I usually end up buying the Kroger brand. A box of 10 is usually $1.20 which is pretty cheap.

I've lived in rural parts of New England, Colorado, Virginia and North Carolina and on military bases. This is my first time living in an urban area, so I'm still getting the hang of things.

I only found out about the deal at Albertson's the day before the coupon expired, so it was a lucky break for me. We don't have much freezer room here either, but I hope to get a chest freezer someday -- probably after we move into a house.

I'll have to check out the Kroger brand waffles next time we go grocery shopping.

Oh OK, well then I can see why locked doors was not an issue. I've always lived in urban or suburban settings in either Salt Lake City, Phoenix or Atlanta.

My mom has no room for a chest freezer and her refrigerator/freezer is small. They didn't plan for much of one when this place was designed/built back in the early 1960s for some reason.
