I wouldn't recommend it as a weight-loss aid, but I think the clove oil I've been using has helped me lose the couple of pounds I was fussing over earlier in the month. The downside is that it tastes awful and kills my appetite because when my mouth isn't hurting, everything tastes like clove. Bleh ( Read more... )

Laurel's potty schedule and mine coincided yesterday and she giggled when I told her "You go to your bathroom, I'll go to mine, then I'll come back and help you finish." Good: she's finally peeing on the potty, although it's only about twice a day so far. Less good: she keeps saying it's too hard to flush the toilet and I'm not sure what to do ( Read more... )

Every time we have a holiday weekend, I get excited until it actually arrives. More than two days with him in the study and no lunchtime relief from Laurel kills the not-quite-joy weekends have for me.

Laurel is such a girl sometimes. Now that she's gotten the hang of using toilet paper, she uses way too much and I've had to plunge the toilet twice in the last two days. It gave me flashbacks of college, only it smells much better here.

My digestive system tried to stage a coup last week. I thought it was the uptick in my alcohol consumption, so I laid off drinking, starting last Wednesday. No difference.
