I was really looking forward to trying Lucky J's Chicken and Waffles. There's not much on the menu beyond fried chicken and waffles. I had a Groupon for a family pack. The location was a bit cramped, but much larger than their trailer origins. We had to wait quite a while to get the food.

Why aren't I that excited? I've been playing since Civ2, through all the versions. This latest one looks better than ever. I just don't think I'll get it, at least not for a while.  I finally found something that I can't get on Windows7 that I miss from OS X-- spring loaded folders.

I saw Scott Pilgrim vs. the World this weekend. It was amusing, but ultimately disappointing. The use of special effects was original and fun. The problem was that the characters and story were barely there. Don't worry. There's nothing for me to spoil. I know how you tie your shoes. Everyone does it the same way because it keeps getting taught the same way at the same age over a span of generations. For the most part it's a knot that works well enough that it hasn't provoked a revolution. The downside is that there are better methods that stay hidden in obscurity.
