Ratchet and Starscream? I guess it would depend on the gravity of the situation. If it was something that took little effort and not as daunting, Starscream would probably try to kill/attack Ratchet. Ratchet might do it, but you never know. Life and death, I'd think they would form a temporary alliance. Starscream is a coward, and would probably do just about anything to survive. Though he'd probably bitch about it; could see him attacking Ratchet when they're safe, but getting konked by Ratchet first. Ratchet would probably be reluctant to help, but I don't think he's entirely the type who would just leave Starscream to die. Especially if he's helpless/the more hands the better.
Soooo, I'd say yes. Ish.
