Title: Better Than None
Rating: PG
Genre: Humor/Romance
Pairings or Characters: Faye/Spike, Jet
Warnings: dorkiness
Word Count: 289
Summary: "I'm plenty cultured! And even if I wasn't, I would much rather be well-fed than cultured."
Author Notes: Another (very last minute) entry for the drabble challenge at fayeandspike, this time based on "Kiss With A Fist" by Florence + The Machine. Most of the other entries have been serious or dramatic in tone (and amazing), but I'm a goofball and so I had to write something humorous. It's kind of hard not to when THE BEBOP CREW IS FULL OF DORKS, okay. My drabbles also seem to be pretty long compared to everyone else's. I hope that's okay, too. >_>;

Better Than None

"I hate instant noodles," Faye moaned.

"Well, if you hadn't been so insistent on seeing that show, we could've caught that hacker kid and bought us some decent food for once!" Spike hissed. She looked up from her cup and glared.

"Just because I wanted to culture you a bit doesn't mean his getting away was my fault," she spat back.

"I'm plenty cultured! And even if I wasn't, I would much rather be well-fed than cultured," he grunted.

"I'll show you well-fed, you ignorant, obnoxious--" she started to shout, rising from her seat.

"Oh yeah? Bring it on, Miss Bitchy Culture Pants--" he crowed, leaping up from the couch.

"Guys!" Jet interrupted from somewhere below them. They froze, intimidating fingers jabbing one another in the chest, and glanced down to watch him blow on his chopstick-full of noodles, slurp them up, swallow, and take a breath before he finally acknowledged them again. "If you want to act like five year olds, go do it somewhere else, and let me eat my dinner in peace."

They both dropped their instant noodles on the table and rushed out of the sitting room, leaving a bewildered but relieved Jet alone with his dinner.

After running through several corridors, Faye skidded to a halt and a surprised Spike nearly ran into her.

"Faye, what--" he began, but she shoved him forcefully at the wall and pressed herself against him, kissing him hard. When they broke apart, he was smirking but she looked unamused.

"'Miss Bitchy Culture Pants'? Really?"

"Shut up. And I am too cultured."

"Whatever you say," she shrugged before pulling him down for another kiss, biting his lip when he started running his fingers through her hair.
