I'm watching the local news (KGW, on NBC) and just like 15 minutes ago there was a story that made my stomach sink. They don't have the article from tonight on the website, but here's another one from yesterday. Very triggering! And for the love of God, DO NOT READ THE COMMENTS!!!!

Luckily, I haven't heard much about it since. Bits here and there, and sadly it was The Daily Show's Moment of Zen that night. My dad was reacting to it, but I still wasn't ready to hear anything so I just firmly said "Don't. I don't want to hear anything about it. I just want it to be over and all the idiots to shut up" and some other stuff about the victim blame. He knows about what happened to me, but I've never felt comfortable talking to him about it for some reason.

Thankfully, Toy Story 3 cheered me up.

It's not an overreaction. Regardless of whether or not he did it (which I do have an opinion on... but it will be saved for a different forum), the very idea of sexual assault by anyone to anyone is horrible and disgusting and very deserving of anyone and everyone's utmost rage.
