Still I Go To The Deepest Grave, Where I Go To Sleep Alone

This was going to be another brief update on my life, but instead, I want to talk about one specific thing.

Against my better judgement, I've been watching Supernatural. And I really, really enjoy it. I know that everyone on my flist who watch(ed) it had a lot to rage about, so I'm trying not to get too cozy, but dammit... I kinda love it. I've ( Read more... )

God, I love the first few seasons of Supernatural so much. Things didn't start getting problematic until much later on, and for me they're still not problematic enough for me to stop watching it. BOYS. Being BROTHERLY. And FIGHTING EVIL. And occasionally having DEEP EMOTIONAL TALKS.

The way I was convinced to watch it in the first place was "Weaves, these boys, they're Robins. And Papa Winchester is Batman. Basically."

... I'm still pretty sold on that theory, even if it doesn't make sense to anyone outside comics fandom. :p Ooh, maybe it'll make comics fandom make sense!

omg, the car crash ending of Season 1. I still get SO WIBBLY rewatching that and the start of season 2. ENJOY :D

OMFG. That is such a great comparison.

I absolutely love the brothers and their brotherliness. Where can I find a section of the fandom that doesn't ship Wincest?

*Edit* Oh! My DVR didn't get the very end of the episode "Everybody Loves a Clown". It got Dean smashing the car, then him staring, and maybe that was it but I just want to make sure that nothing really important happened in the last second of the episode. Like, revealing what John whispered to Dean before he died?

Somewhere in SPN fandom that doesn't ship Wincest?

... well, there's me.

Yeah, unfortunately the entire fandom is pretty much bugfuck crazy. It beats out Harry Potter at its height. They're terrifying. I'm sure there's enclaves of sanity but I've avoided getting engaged with SPN fandom as much as possible so I've never found any.

Just checked the end of that episode (in my head it's named "Dean's Brilliant Coping Mechanisms! And Also OMG IMPALA!") - nothing at the end except a flash screen saying "In Loving Memory of our friend Peter Ellis." No manly tears or anything (yet) :D so that actually is where it ends.

Ah, good to know! I saw the manly tears today, though. :(

Yeah... I just found out today about that horribly offensive "J2" (I'm assuming that's Jared/Jensen) fic taking place after the earthquake in Haiti. A lot of the posts about it say something about how insane the fandom is. I think I'll just steer clear for a bit. But if I find a sane and non-Wincest portion, I'll let you know.
