I would so play that text-based game.
Vis a vis Paint.Net - have you tried GIMP? I think GIMP may have more features.

Well the Kaidan game sadly isn't coming any time soon, but as soon as it does you'll be among the first to know. Namely by me going "BAWWWW THE PROGRAMME ISN'T OBEYING MEEEEE!"
