Katherine Briggs - The Fairies in Tradition and Literature
An excellent source of folklore, I dip into her books for little snippets on the Wild Hunts, dwelling places of fairies etc. Useful, academic, and  she Cites. Her. Fucking. Sources.

How'd you like American Gods?
Also, how is Brideshead Revisited? My friend loves it but she's also a big fan of Virginia Woolf, so I have previously been suspicious.

It's actually very good, it's set before WWII and has a lot of dry wit and a steamy are-they-or-aren't-they love triangle in it. That's actually half the fun of the comparing, seeing how gay/straight they make the relationships by emphasizing Charles/Julia or Charles/Sebastian. Plus the telly series has Jeremy Irons (and the film has Matthew Goode) in the nyuuude :D

American Gods is one of my two favourites along with Neverwhere. This is partly because I consider myself a folklore/mythology buff. Assuming I ever get my blog up and running again, i'm going to do a post on all the cool cameos in it. Or possibly just mention a few in a "Me on Neil Gaiman" post here, we'll see.

Yeah, my friend liked it for the Ho Yay. Ooh naked Irons? Okay this is worth watching.
American Gods is definitely my favorite Gaiman novel. So much epic. I will so read the hot-you-on-Neil-action post. (...This is actually what I assumed you meant before I thought for a minute and realized what you were actually saying.)

XD yeah, I am sooo gonna get sued if I make "Me on Neil Gaiman" my title. Plus last time I met him I might have accidentally depressed him ("Wow, this is a heck of a long queue behind us for book signings, isn't it? Well, enjoy!" - paraphrasing obv.) so he might be even sadder :(
