A post w/o fic - it's like a man w/o a country

Jul 07, 2009 14:03

Shock of shocks, no new fic for y'all today.  I've been hitting the books pretty hard, so there's been a lot of random 100 - 300 word mind clearing moments, but nothing to publish for the masses.  Ho-hum ( Read more... )

Is totally jealous of your John Mayer experience, almost faceplant and all.

My most recent concert was Cross Canadian Ragweed/Jason Aldean and it's vying for best just because it wasn't that long ago. Pretty damn good show. But, Michael Buble was just as great, smaller venue and the man does have a set of pipes. Whew.

Keep studying, girlie! I'm proud of you!

Michael Buble sounds AWESOME. His version of "Feelin' Good," is what I'm listening to if I need to get into a "I'm going on a date and need to be a hot lady" vibe.

And the John Mayer thing - he stretched out his arms and said, "Okay, everybody take a spot," so we could take a picture. I threw myself at the man like it was my JOB. All the other girls were too slow; I ended up right next to him. Then, I tried to tell him, "Good luck for the rest of the tour," and almost fell right on my face because of a huge cable. GOD.

I found a Debbie Gibons LP last time I was at home (at my mums)! AN LP!!!!!!!

Nice choices on the concerts!!! I've seen Coldplay and Green Day - both more than once and both are awesome live.

My fave gig ...... ??? .... possibly Radiohead the first year I went to T in the Park (1997?), maybe Chemical Brothers several years later, or Prodigy in recent years??? Stereophonics are one of my fave bands ever and last time they played Aberdeen they were pretty amazing. The Killers live rocked! Foo Fighters too always amazing. God I love gigs - I could list more and more.... :D :D :D I think we found a reason to bond beyond BONES!!! *g*

RADIOHEAD - OMG, I'm so jealous. I'd give an arm or something to see that. And Foo Fighters, too. OMG, Foo Fighters. I found my copy of "There Is Nothing Left to Lose" this weekend, and it rocked my world.

I think we found a reason to bond beyond BONES!!!

CLEARLY.

I have gone to embarrassingly few concerts in my life, and none that I am brave enough to admit, but I do have one thing to say:

BACKSTREET BOYS FOR LIFE. YOU AND YOUR NSYNC CAN GTFO.

OMG GURL NO YOU DIDN'T JUSTIN IS SO MUCH HOTTER THAN NICK OMG. AND KEVIN TOTES LOOKS LIKE A WEIRDO AND WTF WAS UP WITH AJ AND WHO GAVE A HELL ABOUT HOWIE? BUT BRIAN WAS OKAY. But seriously? I scared the crap out of my friend b/c I found my "Millenium" CD today, and I rolled down the windows and rocked the shit out of it on the way back to my apartment.

On a related note, my friend is interning at a record studio, and he met Aaron Carter the other day. They smoked a cig together, and AC let my friend hold his jacket, which used to be Michael Jackson's. So effing weird.

Also: WHO DID ROLLING STONE END UP NAMING THE BIGGEST BAND INT HE WORLD?! NOT BSB. In your face. :)

HAHAHA. Okay, and the fact that AC was your first celebrity crush as age 9 is so dating me, because I still though he was, like, 14 until the other day. God, 25 is older than it used to be, I SWEAR.

Can we just agree that OMG BRITNEY IS SUCH A SKANK BUT I SO LOVE HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME AND AND OOPS I DID IT AGAIN AND SLAVE 4 U AND TOXIC AND CIRCUS AND WOMANIZER AND LOTS OF OTHERS OF HER SONGS LIKE A FAT KID LOVES CAKE (there's a cool band - Cake) AND WOULD PROBABLY GIVE AN APPENDAGE TO SEE HER IN CONCERT YES.

I want to jump in on this celebration of 90's music by saying that possibly one of the best concerts I ever went to was the SPICE GIRLS show... last year. OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS, it was so so good and everyone was over the age of 18 and just wanted to go so they could sing and dance to "Stop" with all their friends in a public forum where no one would judge. Also, the Queer Eye guys were at the show.

But "real" concerts? Sara Bareilles made me want to be her best friend and the Counting Crows are inexplicably wonderful live (when Adam Duritz isn't too drunk to sing, which has happened 2 of the 4 times I've seen them). I can't believe you met John Mayer! I mean, I read his twitter sometimes. We're very close. ;)

Okay, I'd so go see the Spice Girls. I'd even go see NKOTB, and I didn't even like them. I was such a precocious 6 year old. "That music is terrible. Where's the Steely Dan, Mother? Where is Billy Joel? And what did you do with my MC Hammer tape ( ... )
