So, this is...

I have nothing to say in regards to this.

The other man you may have seen in my memories, Phoenix Wright, was the one who freed me from such thoughts. My beliefs were flawed, my reasoning cruel. There was no room for forgiveness, or humanity.

I've done things I'm not proud of, Mr. Nein, and I may never be free of them. But that does not mean I am going to give up fighting for what is right.

As for your next question... yes, Kristoph Gavin is Klavier Gavin's older brother. From the history I have learned from Prosecutor Gavin himself, or in my case, the future... Kristoph Gavin is a defense attorney, and in Prosector Gavin's time, a convicted murderer.

The one who has arrived in the City claims and acts as though he is from a point in time before the incidents that Klavier mentions, which is causing us a bit of a problem in trusting his words.

Phoenix Wright...You do know he's here in the City, correct?

Mr. Edgeworth, I've only worked with you for a short amount of time, but I seen your dedication to the truth. What happened in the past might have been bad, but you've grown to be an exceptional leader because of that. I hardly say to anyone, but as a person who works underneath you, I feel honored to have such a man as my superior.

Intriguing. If I had known these facts beforehand, I would've never consulted him like I did. It seems he's determined to start up a practice here in the City; the reasons unknown.

It sounds wishy-washy. Perhaps, if you have no objections, I will take it upon myself to keep an eye on him? One of us should watch his actions though, if he's a convicted murderer from his world.

[ He's a little touched by those words. :3 ]

Nnh...

Thank you, Mr. Nein.

I know that Phoenix Wright is here, but he is one from seven years after when I have known him. Apparently, we... seem to have drifted in the future, which is troubling me to no end. I cannot even imagine that where I am from at this point in time.

It is almost as though this City is mocking me. Nearly everyone present from my world is from the future, and they have made no mention of my presence except for what they know from history.

It's a little disconcerting.

But that will not stop me from finding out what I must know now, and here.

As for Kristoph Gavin... I'm uncertain on what to think of him. On one hand I have Klavier's word, and on the other, Kristoph Gavin's claim to the contrary.

If you can handle the duty alongside our current case for Lord Cain, then I will pay you for the job as well. I'd rather not be taken by surprise.

...?

There is no need to thank me, Mr. Edgeworth. I only speak the truth.

Does it matter? Time means nothing here, from my understanding. I've been told, however, to not take things for granted. Perhaps you can patch things up between yourself and Mr. Wright.

Better to be remembered than forgotten in the sands of time. I think you're worrying too much over things you can't change. Turn to your attention to the present, and place your efforts and energy there, in order to prevent the future from going astray.

...That's what I expected you to say.

Only you can make the final decision. Just like everyone else in the agency who has the right to decide their own opinions on people and things.

If it gets overwhelming, then I'll back down. But for now, I can balance them both at the same time.
