Having already seen the hit musical "WICKED" four times, there was a certain saddness at going to see it last week for possibly the last time. Oh don't get me wrong..I'm not wanting to sound ungrateful, it's just that Andrew and I have had an 'affair' with this show, and have been more than lucky to see it in Melbourne, Sydney and here in Brisbane ( Read more... )

Before WICKED, there was RAGTIME and THE LION KING, before that LES MISERABLES and PHANTOM ... I look forward to the next great show with lasting powers!

If they ever get the problems worked out, SPIDERMAN might just fit that bill!

I have heard that 'Spiderman' could fit the bill, but as you say, they need to sort out the problems. I think that one will be some time before it comes to Aus, if ever.

I would love to get to see Wicked some day. I discovered the music by watching an LJ friend Noelbear doing a funny video to the song Popular. From there I did a search and found the rest of the songs from the show. I had never heard of the show at the time so I kind of put together what it was about by the lyrics of the songs. I LOVE Defying Gravity and it gives me chills whenever I hear it. I still hope I actually get to see it professionally done some day, but living out in bum-fuck-Egypt-West-Virginia it isn't very likely.

"Defying Gravity" is a fantastic song and the sequence of events leading up to it make it all the more dramatic. I really hope that you get to see it someday.
