Well I have my appointment to see my surgeon. Scheduled at 2pm on Feb. 10th. I'm already confident in my surgeon, as I have worked with him a number of nights when I was in the Emergency Room working. He is a wonderful trauma surgeon, and has great bed side manner. You sound very dedicated to making this work. And I'm glad to hear you're not treating it as a miracle solution. It's a lot of work on your part for the surgery to be as effective as you want it to be. Keep us posted!

I will be here in my journal. I figure I can do a full history of the whole thing. I can upload pictures, and what better way for me to make use of a journal. lol.

Well informed and considered decision, most can't say that about medical choices. Your move from a point of control over your life to make the changes, this is a good thing. Not easy, but best case.

Well, of late, my health is steadily declining. The Diabetes is getting worse, the Hypertension needs new medications. I've seen this many times in my years in the Emergency Room. It is a steady decline and will only get worse with time unless I can get some weight off. I have done the yo-yo dieting and it only seems to make things worse. This is certainly not a cure all, but a means to help. I have figured that no matter what, I'd never have that "thin" look. I just have that football player build underneath. lol. But I could certainly stand to lose 100 to 150 lbs.
