Well I have my appointment to see my surgeon. Scheduled at 2pm on Feb. 10th. I'm already confident in my surgeon, as I have worked with him a number of nights when I was in the Emergency Room working. He is a wonderful trauma surgeon, and has great bed side manner. I look forward to this meeting, as we will both discuss a number of issues. What type(s) of surgery, though I have already decided to go with the Lapband. I have not had any previous abdominal surgeries, so there should be no problems involving scar tissue and/or other connective tissue problems. I have resigned though that he will bring up the gastric bypass. But I do have my research to counter most of the current thoughts on why I should get one. Then we will move on to what he expects. If he says I need to lose some weight before he will do the lapband. Then fine, I can deal with that. It will only delay my getting the procedure. But I do want what my physician will feel will be the best for my best results. It is not like I was expecting the weight to drop off overnight as it is. The lapband takes the longest to lose, as it does not affect the body's ability to absorb nutrients. I already knew this may become an issue, after having read the information I was sent. So I have already begun modification of my diet in preparation. Well that is pretty much it for now on this front. Take care.
