I took Sarah with me to bat mitzvah rehearsal this morning as usual. Sarah's become kind of the mascot of our class, and all the other gals say it calms their nerves to see her smiling at us from the pews. That's a great story. :) I don't have anything in my own experience to compare, so I can't really imagine how this just all be for you, but I'm sending you my sympathy and good wishes to hang in there.

i am so so so soooo glad that sarah is so into her faith!~ joel and i have yet to decide how we want our child to be raised religiously. we both agree that no one religion is perfect for us, though i still claim myself episcipalian. we do, however, want our child to know god and to believe but we just dont know HOW we want to go about it.

as for the other, i personally believe it is eric's father's loss that he can not be accepting and loving about this. he is not a true christian in any sense of the word if he can be accepting. my aunt is a very serious catholic and she has always supported me, even when i was still more pagan and did not yet know god. i have discussed with her how i have considered converting to judism and she has been 100% supportive. so for him to say that catholic's do not condone that is stupid.

*loves!* you and eric have beautiful children and a wonderful marriage. don't let anyone and i mean ANYONE make you feel bad about that!

If Eric is loving and supportive (and willing to run interference with, and stand up to, his father on your behalf), then you didn't make a mistake at all in marrying him. You didn't marry his father, remember; you married Eric. Hugs.
