Hells yeah. When I was forced to read various Dickens tomes in college, I used to insist that he was just Danielle Steel crossed with Star Trek (i.e. here's an episode, and here's the moral of this section).
....This was in the days that I didn't really *like* Trek. Perhaps now I would say Steel crossed with the Brady Bunch, or 90210, or something like that.
That said, Bleak House features spontaneous human combustion as a major plot point, and it's hard to beat that.
