Happy days for me. I'm on vacation until August 6. YAY!! A good friend is celebrating her birthday today and even though we are not together, I'm happy to celebrate on her behalf. Another friend welcomed his first child into the world yesterday. A healthy baby boy named Benjamin. Congratulations Ted and Emily and welcome Benjamin

Yay for vacation! That's fantastic. Do exactly what you want to do! \o/ Chores around the house aren't nearly as much fun as exciting locales or visiting family, true, but on the other hand how luxurious to have the time to do them, and you'll feel very virtuous! I hope you also build in lots of time to read and just do exactly as you please.

That is worrisome about your mother. I hope it's just a post-trauma/hospital sort of thing, and she gets better. It can take a long time to bounce back. But if the memory loss and the agitation continue, then I hope your sister can get her to see a neurologist or someone who might be able to see if there is anything that might help. There are medications that may be useful in that early cognitive impairment stage--and some people never leave that stage.
