...so when I first saw this post I was all "Eh? Anonymous fic? Nah...oh wait, the title has something to do with music, hence I am obligated to read it."
And, well, this was so PERFECT, with flawless characterization of both the main components, and the slow progression over some indeterminate amount of years, and...and Hibari pushing Dino off the bed (which was about when I fell off my own bed. Though that was partially from pulling an all-nighter. Evidenced by my later falling down a few stairs. >_<) and please please please stop being anonymous.
This is a bit repetitive, but I just reread this, and ILU RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS. Seriously, the adoration? is growing on an exponential curve.
THE USE OF 'PORCUPINEAPPLE' IS SPREADING. This totally vindicates the fact that the actual porcupineapple fic was written while on a Starbucks Marshmallow Mocha (best seasonal flavor in the history of the universe) high and kind of, uh, had problems with making sense. In that it didn't. At all. >_<
Haha, I'm fine. My bed's pretty close to the floor. It actually made a new 6918 plot appear in my head, which makes me think I should hit my head against things more often, but I can't decide the optimal amount of braincells I'm willing to trade for ficplots. D:
Speaking of which, are you, y'know, ever planning on writing 6918? *SUBTLE HINTING*
The porcupineapple was what got me through class one day. FOR SERIOUS. It made bucketloads of sense! And "The Tigers Come At Night" was the best bedtime story I could have ever asked for.
Have I mentioned that I love you?
Starbucks M-marshmallow Mocha. I think I'll drop by one of the 26590242 Starbucks on my way to school tomorrow...
If I were mathematically inclined, I would devise a formula to calculate exactly how many braincells one can sacrifice for ficplots while still maintaining a healthy enough number to-- yeah.
AND UH, I THINK 6918 MAY BE BEYOND THE REALM OF MY CAPABILITIES?
I read this at like 2-3 in the morning last night. SJHMUDC-NH-DJSKFNKUN DOES ANYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY SLEEP? This was... really ... just AWESOME. The interaction between characters, the fun action and with such a hard couple to get in character. You pulled everything off so WELL, and in such a large sum of words! GOD I LOVE YOU STOP BEING ANONYMOUS. Your work is so good and such a treat to be able to read. I hope you write us more someday~ .. I feel I should say more, but this is all I'm coherent for.
I love this. There is a gradation from boy to young man, from hostility to something else, and from care-free school days to mafia business. And while Hibari is becoming tamer and more mature (hard to see, but squint and it is there), his world just gets more bloodie.
Then you've got Dino, who is the constant factor. Ok I am ranting now. But wow.
......... oh my dear anonymous. THIS IS SO PERFECT and it's so hard to find good stuff for this pairing and fdsljfalff;ds god this is what I needed when I woke up and was STILL. SICK.
I think most of the other commentors have already touched upon how much awesome you are made of for writing such a beautiful piece of D18. So, rather than sounding like a broken record and reiterating all that, I'm just going to focus on another aspect of this gorgeous piece of writing that just did it for me completely.
So, spectacular take on the characters aside, what really, REALLY just makes me weak in the knees (never mind my sitting while reading this) is Hibari noticing, once in a while, that Dino's foreign. Those constant little reminders in Italian, usually taking place in the form of food of all things (♥!) and the way you insinuate at the change of pace, lilt, and intonation. I LOVE YOU FOR DOING THIS AAAAH.
Well-definition of language and the crossing of its barriers, especially in such a series that really is multi-cultural no matter how easy it is to forget because of all the mind-numbing pretty. Just, just... asd;lfksjdfh ♥
And the rest... aaaaaah. Speechless, utterly speechless here.

Secondly, THANK YOU! Thank you thank you thank you, and oh, thank you!
It's-- it's very long, isn't it? *sheepish* And to think, I could never write more than a 1000 words.
I'M SORRY FOR BEING ANONYMOUS. It's just-- I'm usually a lurker anyway, and I'm really a rather boring person, so. Uh.
<3 Thank you~

Thank you so much for reading!!
Also, I read "bloodie" as "blonde" at first, and I thought, WHY YES HIS WORLD IS GETTING A WHOLE LOT MORE BLONDE.

There has been a recent deluge of Dino/Hibari lately, or is that just my brain trying to make me feel better? Thanks, brain.
Oh, and I hope you feel better soon! Dino sends his regards and Hibari... nods in your general direction.
