Rambo. Ka-BLEWEY.

This week's film screening was Rambo: First Blood, Part 2. Definitely one for the so bad it's good category. Also helping matters is that during the first week of class our professor told us specifically that there are a lot of elements of gay erotica in this. The anticipation was killing me.

The notes I took on All Rambo, Always, All the Time, Really Regarding Rambo Rambo Rambo. )

YAY!

I'm glad that it got through OK. In the past month I've come to realize just how much it rocks to send and receive postcards.

The wall behind my computer is almost covered in postcards and it looks so goddamned cool. (Of course, I did bring 10 of these postcards with me for decoration, but they look awesome nonetheless.) Postcards are the the perfect item to spice up a dorm room.

Regarding the little story, first of all I'm glad it made you laugh, and secondly douchebag guy is also what's wrong with America guy. Which makes sense.

Why thank you!

And also, why thank you for the postcard that I (grumble pulled from the wrong postbox because our mail staff can't alphabetize) received today! Angler's rest looks gorgeous on my wall.

Also, regarding Bryan Adams. I have decided that every day I don't hear "Summer of '69" is a good day, because the overlistening problem has gone into effect on that one. Cripes!

Screenplay by Sylvester Stallone & James Cameron; this ship will sink like something rocky.
Hey now, Stallone won an Oscar for his screenplay for "Rocky".

Rambo: “The mind is the best weapon.”
:D:D:D

Oh man. . .I have to see this movie.

The IMDB says that Stallone was only nominated for an Oscar for the Rocky screenplay. (Otherwise, I'm sure we'd hear the phrase "Oscar-winner Sylvester Stallone" a lot more frequently... kind of like we're always hearing "Oscar-winner Ben Affleck." Or "Oscar-nominee Oprah Winfrey." Although I don't think I've ever heard the phrase "Oscar-nominee Sylvester Stallone," either.)

Go rent this NOW. It was the highlight of my week.

Oops, my bad, but Oscar-nominated is still pretty swell.

I think I will.

I would love to be Oscar-nominated.

And Rambo. I would love to be Rambo. Boomy.

"Rambo has been placed in a shithole literally. His expression is rather Marsian."
Is that when you stopped taking serious academic notes? Or is it too far down?
I vaguely remember seeing Rambo once, but that's all I remember. It reminds me of a stand up comedy that I saw though: this dude was saying that girls can't make gun noises (at least not as realistic as men can do) and that even the most docile man can make them. He then says "Take Bram for instance, as in Sharon, Lois and *insert gun noises here* *insert explosion noises here* *yells: I AM BRAMBO!*" and that's that. It damn near killed me it was so funny! Check out Russell Peters if you have the chance, you can download his full stand up routine from a website. It is also hilarious!

That line is a bit too far down-- I had given up by then-- but we have now narrowed it down to somewhere between "Babe wants to 'live the quiet life in USA'" and Rambo channels Veronica Mars.

I laughed out loud at the Brambo thing. I cannot imagine Bram vibrating due to machine gunning some innocent Vietnamese villagers.
