The new issue of Entertainment Weekly reported that the great Gregory McDonald, creator of Fletch, author of 17 novels has died of prostate cancer. He died at his farm in Pulaski Tenn. on Sept. 7, The news was reported on Wednesday by Mr. McDonald's manager. Mr. McDonald was 71.

So the other day I'm at the bookstore and I pick up the paperback of "Sandworms of Dune". This, along with "Hunters of Dune" forms parts I and II of "Dune 7", the planned grand finale to the Dune-iverse that Frank Herbert never lived to complete. This makes the chronology of the series as follows:
