Hmm... I've used Weight Watchers online which sort of worked for me so long as I concentrated and stuck to it, but I got bored of it and regained the weight - it really is all about watching. However I'd really not say it's big on selling its own brand food - the whole *point* of Weight Watchers is that you can eat whatever you want, but you need to do it in moderation. They do have their own brand stuff with the points values marked up on them, but they also publish loads of points values for regular off the shelf stuff including fruit and veg, and they make a big deal out of you getting your five a day and water requirements, plus they give you tools for calculating points on stuff using the nutritional value info. I've got no experience of Slimming World and perhaps what happens at the meetings is different, but it sounds to me as though you've been misled on the nature of WW.

I once lost 21kg on Weight Watchers. Then I got sick and had my gall bladder out and I slowly put the weight back on over a couple of years. I became obsessive about the numbers, so I'd like to think I wouldn't do it again. Still, it worked.

I think that Weight Watchers is great as an educational tool in nutrition. Ignore the products they have (I'm sure it depends on the club, but they never pushed them on me) and go for the Points plan.

Worked for me and taught me all about portion control and moderation (my particular problems)

I was with Weight Watchers over here a few times and yes, they do have a select few things that you can get there, but no, they did not push their product in any way, shape or form. It's all about taking what you already eat and working with that...mainly portion control. Like, if you want to have cake, have cake!! But just have a little piece to satisfy your craving and not a huge piece or the whole thing.

WW was especially good for me due to all my food allergies...there are lots of prepackaged things that I cannot eat and the best plan would be something involving my own food choices.

Also, with WW, even tho they have their meetings but you don't have to stay around for those. You can just go in, pay, get weighed and then leave. Personally, I found the meetings pretty useless because I'm not an emotional eater and that seemed to be what they addressed there.

:-)
