Other than read a FANTASTIC book over the weekend I also saw The Corpse Bride. A wonderful and original story. The animation is done so well that it is seamless. It is just so smooth and wonderful. Cornelia Funke is an enchantress with words. Never has the written word seemed so alive. Her most recent story is indescribable. Never have characters seemed so alive. Newly kindled love, the relentless attempt to return to a lost lover and a love fruitlessly held. If anything this is a story that revolves solely on love. The way love melts away ( Read more... )

Saw Mozart's The Magic Flute. A good opera. Can't actually compare it to any other opera. Some of the acting was okay some of it really good. The singing was great, but even though it was in english most of it was a garbled mess. Some of it was just too high or too low to understand. This is the opera with the most famous singing though. Reporters and critics attending the Toronto International Film Festival are predicting that Tim Burton will have his second big hit in two months (the other was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) with the animated Corpse Bride, which opens domestically on Sept. 23.
