Last night, with the renewal of my monthly eMusic donwload cap, I grabbed Gaudi's "Dub Qawwali", featuring dub rerubs of the works of the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. In what I hope is a precedent-setting first for the band, everyone showed up for loadup on time. I'd spent a while beforehand making sure everything was packed up properly, as I am wont to do, so loading was just a case of haul it up the stairs and heave it in the Forester. I loaned a copy of "Excursions" to Victor, my co-worker who has loaned me a number of A.R. Rahman CDs and some other Tamil music (and is offering to bring me back recordings when he comes back from Tamil Nadu ( Read more... )

On the plus side, one of my musical heroes - majorish label, british, serious cred, great remixing track-record, etc - would apparenlty be willing to remix my stuff (I asked).

On the minus side, they charge a rate that I can't likely afford. Even Rhys Fulber is cheaper.

Drat. Well, at least I know they've listened to my stuff.
