I have had the same experience. Loved the guy who tried to scam me out of a $3 comic by claiming it never arrived -- on the same day it showed up at his house. Genius, you see that "delivery confirmation" sticker on the envelope? It's not just decorative.

Hell to the yes. If I get that patented bad vibe feeling about a buyer, I will invest 75 cents on a tracking number. I've had to use it a few times, too. It's better than insurance.
