Trip to Fukushima

Jul 13, 2008 20:01

Just got back from a roadtrip north to Koriyama, in Fukushima prefecture. It was my first time to the Tohoku (Northern Honshu) region. Our car is now covered with bug splattage and my camera memory card is full. (^_^) We went for a wedding (one of my husband's friends) but I'm showing only the "quirky Japan" pics I took there.

Koriyama is your ( Read more... )

I really want to go to Japan one day. It sounds like they have so many cool things there. I also want to see the statue of Hachiko. When I first heard that story, I was so moved!

I hear they also have vending machines, for...um...ladies undergarments. Vending machines for everything, indeed :P

Haha, I've heard this too. But only in parts of town I don't usually frequent- I think my friend has pics in his blog. Yup-

Hachiko is OK. A bit underwhelming, actually. He's in that cool intersection with all the TVs though, so worth a look anyway.

I am impressed by your friends coverage of all things pantie-related!

And you even took a picture of your ramen lol! That's so kewl how they have vending machines for everything over there. Wish they had that here in the US but I guess ppl would have even more reason to break into a vending machine if that was the case. -_- Damn americans keeping us from having cool stuff.

Adulteress club! XD That's hilarious. I often hear that sometimes signs in Japan will attempt to adopt english words to their signs and will get it a little off so instead of "Frying pans" you might see a sign for "flying pans". I wouldn't know since I haven't been to Japan myself but it'll be fun to experience if I run into those signs. I know that adulteress sign, if I would have encountered that, I don't know how I could have done it with a straight face. :D

Take more pix when u can! :D

Those ramen vending machines would probably be hits at every college campus in North America. If I ever get tired of my job, I'm looking into that line of business.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I've had the same thought, but about the hot drink ones in Canada- they are sooo awesome in the winter. But vandalism is such a problem back home that I think it wouldn't be feasible.
