Past thread- Raleigh and Eugenie, Sixth year

It wasn't fair! Why did she have to have points deducted from her as well as have to suffer through a broken arm? It had only been a few minutes, and she realised that it would have been more than a few weeks had she been tended to by Muggles. The professor even had the nerve to give her two detentions too! All for creating a rather big fuss in ( Read more... )

"Threatened to owl my parents." Eugenie rolled her eyes, lying upside down on her bed. She rolled over to make space for Raleigh, her head spinning as she did so. She hadn't faired as badly as her best friend, but she had copped some well placed punches to the face and torso. That was the problem when you fought girls on girls, nobody was afraid of doing damage. Tentatively, she ran her index finger along her bottom lip to see if it had stopped bleeding yet.

"Got the full speech," She continued, having heard it a million times. "Eugenie Marie Walker, with all your talents in healing you'd think you would spend more time helping people, not getting into fights." By this stage, she could imitate their head of house almost perfectly. "Didn't even want to hear that we'd had a bloody good cause, stupid snakes. Just threatened to put us in different dorms. I get the fifthies, you get to stay here."

Her face broke into a wide grin. "Convinced him otherwise, of course. Too easy."

Raleigh immediately abandoned thoughts of her own bed at Eugenie's shuffling, and instead almost leapt into the space next to her best friend. She was upset, and this was painfully obvious, even if she wasn't crying. Raleigh caught Eugenie's hand and threaded her fingers through it, trying to find contentment in any form of physical contact with her best friend. Raleigh was however, quite aware of the punches Eugenie had received.

Raleigh latched on to moved closer to Eugenie, making sure to be gentle. "It's not right that they do that to us. They know what we have to put up with," Raleigh said adamnently. She could handle it, but the younger years shouldn't have to. Not when the professors were well aware of what was going on. The others should have been expelled by now, not just have points deducted. "Besides, they can't split us up. We'd take refuge in the boy's dorms ( ... )

The dip of the bed was different with two people on it rather than one, and Eugenie had to wiggle a bit to get comfortable, but she did, deciding it was much better to have Raleigh here with her. She didn't know what she'd do without her sometimes, jumping into fights to help her out, the late night homework sessions because they'd both left it too late, hiding in one of their beds gossiping or talking or trying to fight a random and unpredicted bout of homesickness ( ... )

"Tom's bed wouldn't be so bad," Raleigh giggled, "although I can't believe he would be so tactless to suggest that." Well, it wasn't exactly tactless if there wasn't that half the chance that either of them had already popped in there at some time or another. "I'd prefer one next to the window, though." Raleigh said with a slight nod. She moved her head so that it was almost resting against Eugenie's shoulder, but she was much too aware of ouches and possible bruises to cuddle up as much as she would like to.

"No, it's fine. When I'm this colourful, maybe the professors will take pity on me when there's a rematch- which I'm sure there will be, tomorrow. From the way that the cows were looking at us." She was happy to have Eugenie around- with her, Raleigh didn't need to learn healing charms, not even minor ones. Together, Eugenie and Raleigh obviously made the perfect person. Minus the extreme Gryffindor aspects of their personalities, of course ( ... )
