Tobias was surprised to find himself alone at the pitch. Sure, he was a bit early (he may or may not have been attempting to fly in ferret form for a while there), but surely someone else should be here by now? He sighed as he sat on his hovering broom, waiting for someone else to appear. At least then he could have them throw quaffles at him, he'd played awfully at their last match.

((Why not!))

J.J. was flying around a bit, nothing to spectacular but he wanted to warm up as everyone was coming. It was a bit cold, but he'd bundled up against it, a scarf snug against his neck on top of a coat. So far no snow, but that wasn't saying anything considering how it had been coming in and out all day. Taking a deep breathe of air he kept on going, figuring this would at least give him something to do while Anya the rest of them gossiped talked. When Will came he'd come closer to hear what he had to say.

For the moment though he lazily took a lap around the field, letting his mind wander to figuring out how to do forward flip (so he was heading towards the ground at first) without becoming disoriented. It actually would be a bloody brilliant trick if he could practice it till he wouldn't lose his dinner anymore.

Anya was walking down to the pitch now, with the other girl teammates she had. It had become a sort of tradition. Not that they meant to be exclusive, but wasn't it natural that girls swarm around one another?? It helped that they had all gotten rather close while being in the team -- especially since they'd won all of their matches thus far. You wouldn't believe what it did to the moral! It was like being on a high!

Anyway, she currently had her arm hooked around Trip's, giggling as her best friend said something funny. She then looked over to Arisha and Tegan, smiling at the older girls, "I say we play a bit of boys verse girls today," Ironically, it was only then that she looked up and saw JJ, rolling her eyes, "SHOW OFF!" She yelled, cupping her mouth with one hand. He was such a boy.

((omg. you know with this new point system -- seven posts per point -- we could totally rule the school, you and I. ;D))

Tegan genuinely adored each and every one of her teammates. It had been such a huge confidence booster for her to join the team, both with realizing that she was a skilled flyer(though apparently not a skilled beater, as the last game would show. It wasn't her fault she fell off the broom every time she went to hit the bludger!) and with making new friends. This lot certainly weren't ones who she'd have hand picked to get close to. Will and Nate, perhaps, since they were closer to her age, but she'd also found good friends with the younger ones as well ( ... )

The flour baby thing had been kind of fun and all not that Derek would be spreading that opinion around, thanks but Derek was plenty happy not to have them as a concern this week. It was getting down to crunch time for Quidditch. Distractions in practice were not going to help anything. At least distractions for Derek. He didn't think most of the team cared too much either way- and he tried to let it remain so. Given the collection of people he had working for him here, it was best to keep control loosely; get them to do their jobs but let them do it their way and so they thought it was their idea. It cut down on a lot of stress on Derek's part and seemed to be working pretty well. He just had to keep them vaguely on task through practice so the skill level kept improving.

It was raining tonight, of course, and a bit cold, so he'd warned everyone to bundle up and headed down to the pitch. It seemed only right that the captain should be there first, yeah?

Lia was definitely glad to be done with the flour babies. They had been a huge distraction from studying, and Quidditch too, and she had been more than happy to return it.

She wrinkled her nose at the weather, brushing some rain off her face as she approached the nearly empty pitch.

"Hey Derek," she said with a wave. "What's the plan for tonight?"

And as usual, his assistant captain was the next to the pitch. You'd think they were obsessed with Quidditch or something.

Derek smiled at Lia as she approached. "Hey. I figure we'll see how long this wants to last," he said, nodding toward the rain. "Get in some flying for a while and if we're just getting soaked we might hit the locker room instead and talk strategy instead. At least until they get restless. What do you think? We should have about five minutes of being dry before they leave anyway," Derek commented jokingly. Not about the five minutes, mind you. Derek had no delusions about his team's dedication. If they weren't going to be directed to fly, most of them would be just as happy anywhere else- which is why he was hoping they could get an hour of practice in anyway before it wasn't worth it to be out here.

If there was anything that their game against Hufflepuff had proven Jul was that she needed to practice more. It'd been a couple practices since the game but she still didn't feel that she wasn't as good as she needed to be.

So before anyone else had shown up Jul was on the pitch as the clouds cleared out but left the cold as evening took over the day. She pulled out the practice gear onto the field and let the bludgers out of their 'cage' while she did suicide drills on her broom.

Zak stared up into the sky, admiration filled his eyes as he watched the younger girl pacing up and down the field. Who turned up early to do suicides? Fair play... He thought, as he dropped his gaze to find a few of the arrivals were taking a moment to watch her instead of immediately getting into the air. "Everybody up there with her!" He encouraged. Zak didn't blame them for their surprise"C'mon, the Cup can still be ours. Get on your brooms already ( ... )
