After passing to Cody, Ramsey flew up and placed himself so that he could help provide some interference if Kinsella actually decided to do anything (as unlikely as that was). Had he known that Kinsella had spent the entire night before coming back to school as a ferret, Ramsey wouldn't have been the least surprised. Kinsella'd always been a bit of a rodent, after all.

Cody sped in, and swerved left, aiming for the hoop. He careened away at the last moment, hoping his speed would throw Toby off. Hahaha, Toby. Cody made a mental note to keep that one to himself.

When he was at a safe speed again, he turned back to look to see if he had made it.

This week's practice is closed.

Slytherin had 17 posts in full rounds from active characters. At 1/7 point for each post, 2 stat points were earned (+.4 if Julia is letting you build that up, I don't know).

Ramsey pulled the hood of his jacket up over his head, hunching his shoulders over as he stalked out onto the pitch. He'd spent the last week dealing with inquiries from all sides on the subject of his blood status (who would've thought that one vague answer five years before would cause so much bother for him now?), and he was, as a result, in a bit of a snit. If he ever got his hands on the twit that'd written that article, he was going to show them a thing or six, mostly involving his fist.

He'd been looking forward to finding some release in Quidditch this evening, but it was apparent that the weather just wasn't going to let him be. Stupid evening showers.

Cody stood under the cloudy sky, the raindrops falling down, and he was content. He'd taken off his glasses, and put them in his pocket, at least for now. He liked the way the raindrops felt when they hit his skin, the way his hair dripped. Perhaps it would be better if he cast a charm to keep him from getting actually wet -- eventually the cold would set in -- but for now, he liked the way getting absolutely soaked was a submission to nature.

"Hey," he said, when he realized Ramsey was there. He cast a water repelling charm on his glasses -- so he could see -- and put them on.

Tobias scowled darkly as the drops began to fall heavily down from the sky. He hated this sort of weather, it was too reminiscent of winters spent at home. It always took him some time to adjust to the winter weather that arrived all too quickly to the Scottish highlands.

"Bugger it all, is this all that's coming?" He asked, rising slowly up to the sky where the younger pair hovered ready to start playing. Tobias was grudgingly impressed by their early appearances. He was only just on time.

"Maybe nobody told the new kids that there's still practice on rainy days?" Ramsey suggested, brightening some upon seeing that Cody was already there. "Hey, you sure you can see in this?" he teased with a grin as he tightened his hood around his face.

"You should try it," said Cody. "Not only can I see, I almost get distracted by the way the raindrops fly away from my glasses." He flinched, then rubbed his left eye. "I can't help the rain drops that hit my cornea, though." He shrugged.

"Small practice again?"

"Looks like it," Tobias answered, scowling to himself. He ignored the conversation the two of them were having and hovered up above them so as to get a better view of the grounds. He couldn't help but mutter profanities when he saw that no one else appeared to be coming.

This was no way to start the season. How were they meant to prepare with only three of them? "Did...anyone ask anything?" Tobias then asked, lowering to their level once more. He'd been fairly unapproachable for the last two days due to a cold he'd been fighting off. But he was here, now where the fuck was everyone else?

"Is it just me," Ramsey asked Cody quietly so that the older boy couldn't hear, "or is he in a perpetual sulk? Seems like he's always angry or grumpy or peeved about something." Had Ramsey been a more dirty-minded fellow, he probably would've also pointed out that Kinsella likely needed to get laid. But he wasn't, so he didn't.

"No one asked me," Ramsey said. Not that that said much - a large portion (mainly the blood elitists, but some of the others also) of his house wasn't talking to him at the moment, after the article in last week's paper.

"Tobias?" asked Cody, looking over at the boy who was glowering and shouting and refusing to stay level with them. "Pretty much," he said, just in case Tobias could hear.

"No one asked me either," said Cody. "What a team we're shaping up to be. When's our first game, anyway?"

Had Ramsey been more dirty-minded, Tobias would've happily informed him that he'd been laid more than both the younger boys parents had in both their lifetimes. He hovered with the pair for a moment, irritated by the answers given. He'd hoped that someone would've said something. "Right, bloody brilliant."

It was times like these that made Tobias wish Hogwarts didn't have magical boundries on things like mobiles. He would've been able to text his teammates and demand their presence. "Okay then, this week we're doing fitness. We can't do drills with three." The 6th year motioned for them to follow him down to the pitch. Suicides it was!

"The twenty-eighth, I think," Ramsey said with a frown. "But I'm pretty sure it's against Hufflepuff, so. It's not as bad as it could be, I guess." Though, of course, Hufflepuff was a rag-tag but loyal bunch. Not psychotic about practicing like Ravenclaw (which apparently consisted mainly of littles this year? Or so he'd been lead to believe) and not almost entirely sixth and seventh years like Gryffindor.

Sighing, he plodded off down the pitch, following Kinsella. Okay, so it wasn't liked Destruere a lot more than the sixth year, but at least she wasn't and a... twit like Kinsella.

Cody followed Tobias as well. Who had died and left him boss? Cody was a little cross with this. If there was no captain, and less than half the team, why were they having practice anyway? It wasn't the wet that was making him cranky (after all, we had established he liked the rain), it was just the whole attitude of the team.

Tobias saw their expressions and sighed. The rain began to fall harder and that just made him want to go ahead with the sprints even more. He wasn't about to be deterred from practice, not after all the hard work last year had paid off. "Okay, do five suicide runs and finish with a slow jog around. Shouldn't take more than ten minutes at the most, right?"

He gave in to the fact that he wasn't exactly facing the most enthusiastic pair ever. If they didn't want to do fitness, then that was just fine with him. He'd do it himself some other time, but he doubted either of them had the motivation to do it during their free time.
