Had to cancel - reschedule, really - my date because I have this head cold. My mother persuaded me it wasn't responsible to expose someone else to it.

So I have the evening free. It's too early to go to bed (still light out). I don't feel bad, just tired. And disappointed, of course.

I am reading some (surprisingly skilled) Austen fan fiction as consolation. :) I really hadn't thought anybody could do such a thing well, but I think the less you try to emulate Austen's style, the better you succeed.
