My Fluevogs arrived

They intimidate me slightly. While, by strict definition, this may be a decadent era, it is also an era with an aesthetic of brushed steel. Shoes of extravagant design (curved heels! embossed suede! platforms!) seem extravagant indeed - not just in price, but in the aesthetic they assert ( Read more... )

Shoes like that can turn something as simple as jeans into an event. Don't overthink it. Just enjoy.

And I hope everything else gets better sooner rather than later.

Thanks. I hadn't thought of jeans, but yes, that'd work very well. I think maybe a black pencil skirt and a white top, too.

I'm debating whether to watch The Crimson Horror tonight or put it off yet again and just go to bed.

I was going to say what wickedgillie already did -- you'd be surprised how nice Fluevog heels look with jeans. Wear them in good health, as my mother always says. (And I hope they help you feel less miserable, too.)

Thanks. I only get to wear jeans on weekends, but I think they will go nicely with them. I took them to work, but a blister (from an unrelated incident) was being irritated, so I couldn't wear them. Another time.

I do feel better, actually. At least half the time, when I'm miserable, it's because of something I'm doing to myself, so acknowledging it forced me to change my behavior.

I'm a shoe noticer. I'm not sure a high percentage of the populace is, though. So I say, treat them like fancy undies*. Wear them for you. And don't worry what other people think.

Easier said than done?

Don't be miserable!!! There, did that help?

I hope things get better soon. *hugs*

*Not saying you've got no one else to wear fancy undies for, but you know what I mean.

That's good advice! I took them out for what was going to be their maiden voyage, but I had a blister (unrelated) that they irritated, so I couldn't wear them. Another time.

Heh. I'm sorry if people are saying that to you! (But, actually, I got my period the next day, so I feel like things are partially Explained.)

I hope things get better soon. *hugs*

Thank you. I do feel better now. I think I needed to express it and acknowledge it, and now I feel better.
