A young River Song, using the semi-functional extra TARDIS core that the Doctor wound up with after his escape with Idris, pilots it to Roald Dahl Plass -- and gets stuck. She can't see out, but Torchwood can see in, and the bulk of the story is Gwen's notes of their evolving theories as to who River is, what that mysterious machinery is that she's working so hard on, why she doesn't seem to notice their attempts to get her attention, why they can't seem to get closer than a few feet from her (it's like walking on a treadmill: you can walk and walk but never get any closer), and why Jack is alternately acting evasive about and baffled by their mysterious visitor.
