Stormy weather

Well, Cincinnati was only brushed by the massive storm currently bearing down on the East Coast.  We have ice in the trees, but it disappeared from the roads pretty quickly.  Driving home today in ordinary rain was more hazardous than driving to work in the morning was ( Read more... )

I keep looking at the weather reports and boggling. At least your parents are well supplied and have a fireplace, and glad you're safe.

It turns out that my parents have a gas furnace with some kind of electric regulation mechanism, so the heat came on randomly once and otherwise was off. But my mother said it didn't get below sixty inside before the power came back on.

(Yikes!)

I'm boggling at the weather reports, too. Someone commenting on somebody else's journal said they had 123 inches of snow! Ten feet of snow! Imagine!

At least one of my flisters is snowed in right. Crazy storm.

Haven't heard about the cyclone. Eek.

It looks as if the cyclone did enormous property damage, but so far they have no reports of deaths! Amazing! (And it shows what a properly warned population and a properly funded, equipped, and staffed evacuation effort can do!)

It's sunny, and relatively warm out here -- "relatively" being still below freezing, but warm enough that you can wear your coat unbuttoned from the building to you car. Or perhaps that's just me?
