S. and I were talking about American remakes of British television, and I said I thought I remembered that a British film was actually being remade right now by an American studio with Americans. S. said that didn't ever happen: television shows, yes, but not an actual film being remade. I was pretty sure I'd recently read of it happening

Ladykillers would have been the one I brought up, too. I can't think of any others off of the top of my head, although I know it's been done, and I even seem to remember someone talking about it recently.

Yeah, me too. I was thinking maybe it was St. Trinian's, little sense though that would make as an American film, but I couldn't find any mention on IMDB of a remake.
